The following is statistical information about the potential mine site at South Bickham. It was gathered to assess the potential for an open cut coal mine at the site.
Bickham Coal Company has been carrying out various environmental studies, particularly on water usage and management for the life of a mine.
Location: 12km south-east of Murrurundi and 25km north of Scone
District: Upper Hunter Shire (previously Murrurundi, Merriwa and Scone Shires)
Land area: 1,154 hectares
Exploration Licences held: EL5888 and EL5306
Bore holes: 115 in total
- 2 Water Bores,
- 200mm diameter, seams cored
- 13 Fully cored bores
- 68 open holes, geophysically logged
- 32 Water piezometers
